Apple achieved a record milestone by shipping 4.9 million iPhones to India during the July–September 2025 quarter (Q3 CY25), marking its highest-ever quarterly shipment in the country. According to data from Omdia, this represents a 47 percent year-on-year growth in shipments.
Key Highlights.
Record share: India accounted for 9 percent of Apple’s total global iPhone shipments in the quarter — the highest share ever for the country.
Drivers of growth: The surge was fueled by the launch of the iPhone 17 series on September 9 and the onset of the festive season demand in India.
Local manufacturing impact: Apple’s India expansion under the ‘Make in India’ and PLI (Production Linked Incentive) schemes boosted both local sales and exports. Nearly 78 percent of iPhones produced in India during the period were exported to the US .
Market share: Apple’s market share in India rose to 10 percent in Q3 2025, aided by strong demand for the made-in-India iPhone 17 series, which accounted for 1 in 5 iPhones shipped.
Analysts forecast that Apple could achieve its highest-ever festive quarter in India in Q4 2025, with expected sales growth of around 28 percent year-on-year.
